Cell Phone Policy
The number of cell phones coming to school with children is on the rise. I do understand the need for parents to stay in contact with their children while they travel to and from school or participation in other after school activities. I do not have problems with students using phones for safety reasons before and after school.
However, during the day, cell phones must be turned off and stay in the backpack. Cell phones' going off during class time is a huge distraction to the learning environment. If cell phones are being used during the school day and are going off in the classroom they will be confiscated from the student and released only to parents or legal guardians. It is the student's responsibility to notify parents of confiscated items.
I appreciate your support and understanding.
